Bed mattresses : Choosing a Memory foam mattress

Imagine diving into deep sleep, supported by a plush and dense memory foam mattress that adapts to the contours of your body. Imagine feeling like you are floating on the bed and slowly entering a state of slumber that nothing can perturb. And if you want to take your imagination a bit further, picture what the medical magnets, attached to your mattress are doing to improve your circulation and to your feeling of relaxation and lumbar support.. It's almost like being rocked from head to toe, or even better, it's like being massaged into a deep and relaxing sleep. This is just one aspect of memory foam mattress.

On the down side, some people have remarked that the memory foam mattress exudes a chemical odor, similar to the smell of paint. This is not surprising because memory foam is manufactured with various chemical substances. Unlike regular mattresses, which attract moisture and bugs, these mattresses are immune to the latter because they are made of substances that repels bugs and reduce moisture. On the other hand, the chemicals exude smells that are known to trigger breathing disorders amongst sensitive people or amongst people who suffer from asthma.

These mattresses are not cheap. A competitive price for this type of mattress amounts to $2,000 or $3,000. And that is only happening since the Chinese entered the market. Some consumers prefer to avoid purchasing a China manufactured memory foam mattress on the grounds that because it is compressed with hydraulic presses and kept on ships for months, before reaching its destination, it may take the memory foam mattress a longer time to air out. In the USA, mattresses are rolled up and the air is sucked out of them. They take less time to be aired out but are more expensive than the Chinese ones.
