Bed mattresses : How does an air mattress work?

An air mattress comes in all the traditional sizes for beds. Some people like the feeling of the type of soft buoyancy that the air mattress delivers. They enjoy the feeling of bounciness that lies underneath the soft over-padding which is sometimes made of memory foam or latex. Inside the bed are chambers of air that are equally spread out in the whole mattress, and that move directly with the movement of the person. Some people feel it so wonderfully supports them that they sleep better at night. The air mattress can be made of either natural or synthetic canvas.

There are two rows of air channels inside the air mattress. In some cases there are valves along the side that can be inflated or deflated according to the clients preferences. These mattresses are easy to maintain and clean. You just wipe them off with a damp cloth and leave them to air dry. Some people do add the additional soft mattress pad on top of the air mattress. A person really has to try these air beds out to evaluate if it is the correct choice for them.

Because the air mattress moves so closely with the movement of the person's individual body, it would be a good idea for a couple who are considering a larger one to try it out and see what happens when one of them moves or gets out of the bed. Then they will see more immediately how the air mattress works for a large size bed that might accommodate two people.
