Bed mattresses : When to purchase a new mattress
Families are always growing in numbers are purchasing or downsizing homes. Therefore these families are often faced with new mattress requirements. If a mattress is 10-15 years old, it is time to throw it away. Hotels are legally required to replace a mattress after five years from purchase. The many possible mattresses available easily overwhelm the buyer.
If you or your family is not sleeping properly, the bed is sagging in the middle, and the mattress appears worn then it is time to purchase a new one. Immediate concerns include cost, size, weight, comfort and whether to purchase a new box spring along with the new mattress. Using a board under the existing mattress? You know that you have to purchase a new box spring. In general, your new mattress may be better maintained on a new box spring. Beware of manufacturers who tell you that there is a one sided mattress that does not need to be turned every 2-3 months. Such a mattress has extra foam padding on one side and when it becomes soiled the other side of the mattress is not useful for sleeping.
The old left over mattress from the home that is now being dismantled is not something that you should be stored, saved or reused. It is not good for anyone's health. You and your family do not want those old dust mite ridden beds. Save the happy family memories. There are companies who will remove that bed and recycle what can be recycled. Call one of those local companies, you can find their numbers on the Internet or in The Yellow Pages. When you have identified that you need a new mattress, go out, visit the shops and purchase a new one!
