News Feeds and Widgets

What is a news feed?

A news feed is a data format used for serving users frequently updated content. Click here to learn more about news feeds.

What is a widget?

A widget is a small application that can be posted to a website or blog to serve a specific function. Click here to learn more about widgets.

How frequently are the feeds updated?

We update the most popular news feeds / news widgets every 15 minutes. We update the less popular news feeds / news widgets once an hour or once every two hours.

What is the difference between news feeds and widgets?

A news feed is an RSS feed in XML format. We believe that many people don't know how to parse the content of RSS feeds. This task requires some strong programming skills. Therefore we provide easy-to-use widgets which make the integration of RSS feeds into your site a lot easier.

What are the steps required to create content patches?

1. Design your content widget.
2. Paste the code we give you in the end into the pages of your site
3. The code will automatically show the latest version of the feed hosted on our site. So you basically need to paste the code only once.

I am really enthusiastic about your services but I can't find the information I need for my website. What can you do about it?

When building a news widget on our homepage, you can either browse our pre-defined category or search for content using keywords (both in step 1.).

Feedzilla also provide free RSS news feeds for free. RSS feeds can be selected by category or searched using keywords.

Can I use a widget more the once?

Yes, you can use the same widget as often as you want on as many websites or blogs as you would like.

Do I need to maintain the Widgets I create?

No, the only thing you need to do is post the news widget to your blog/website or add the widget's code to your website/blog once. We will then automatically (and remotely) update their content. It's really MAGIC!

What programming languages are your Widgets compatible with?

Our Widgets can be added to your website and blog using any of the following methods:

Do the links to the full articles open in a new browser window (e.g. _blank)?

Yes, they do.

Can I modify widgets I've already created?

No, you are unable to modify your widgets once created. However, you can come back to Feedzilla and create new ones with the required categories within seconds.

Would I be able to remove some articles from a feed?

Sorry for now this is not possible. Feedzilla manually aggregates the best and most relevant RSS feeds available on the Internet. However, if you are not satisfied with the relevancy of an article, please feel free to contact us with the source and your widget's URL so we can quickly remove this.

How does Feedzilla work?

Feedzilla is a news aggregator which categorizes news stories by topic. It is a platform where webmasters and bloggers can find an unmatched selection of easy to use, automatically updating and professional news widgets for their sites. Feedzilla supports the building of widgets in various formats, as well as allowing the addition of news widgets to different blogging platforms and social networks.

Feedzilla manually aggregates news summaries found in RSS feeds, and redistributes them in either RSS format or as a news widget. Content is collected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from an ever-growing list of providers.
