European Banks Cut Interest Rates
5/12/08 Homesgofast.com News London-Major European banks cut interest rates in a major attempt to stave off the effects of a worsening economic situation across the continent. The Swedish central bank and the Bank of England both cut their key interest rates to 2 percent, following on the heels of New Zealand’s cut in interest rates. The European Central Bank lowered its benchmark interest rate by three-quarters of a point to 2.5 percent, the largest reduction in the bank’s history.

President Bush Buys Home in Dallas
President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush have purchased a home in Dallas, Texas. The first couple will move out of their White House space when incoming President Barack Obama is inaugurated on January 20th, 2009, and will move to Dallas. Currently, the Bushes spend their time away from Washington at their ranch in Crawford, TX, which is south of Dallas. They plan to continue to visit the ranch, but reports indicate that they will make Dallas their primary residence.
