Saudi likely to see 'small' budget deficit in '09
Saudi Arabia's 2009 budget could plunge back into a deficit, although smaller than has been projected, mainly due to higher public expenditure and a steep drop in oil prices, Emirates Business has reported. Riyadh-based Jadwa Investments forecasts the shortfall to reach about SR18bn (Dhs17.8bn), far lower than the SR65bn deficit assumed by the government for the 2009 fiscal year. Kuwait market lacks of impulses
The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) Price Index closed 0.11% higher at 7,691 points. Bahraini Islamic bank Ithmaar topped the market by gaining 8.06%, closing at KD0.067. Rising oil prices lift Tadawul market
Followeing a shaky start, the Tadawul All Share Index (Tasi) gained 0.87%, ending at 5,818.37 points. Oil prices surged over 2.48% to $71.27 per barrel. Sabic re-gained and closed at SR71.75 (up 2.87%). SABB Takaful dipped on profit bookings (off 2.39% at SR92). [AMEInfo.com]
