The World poker association recently announced the launch of an educational event for its members, the first of its kind. Scheduled to take place during the WPA Inaugural Conference from May 28th to May 29th, the event will be headlined by the man they call the "Mad Genius of Poker", Mike Caro. When Jack Hinchey of Ontario made it deep in the Barcelona poker tournament known as the World Poker Crown, his main goal was to win enough money to pay for a university education, but not for himself: Jack wanted to put his granddaughter Victoria through college with his winnings. For years people have been asking the question what the threshold for commitment is. To be honest that question is usually associated with dating and when it is a right time to ask your significant other to either invest in a ring or find someone with a tramp stamp who is only interested in having a good time. For the sake of this conversation, "committed" means when you are pot committed during tournament play. When you are unfortunate enough to have a short stack, and the number of chips you have relative to what is in pot creates a situation where the pot odds demand that you call with the remainder of your chips, you are technically pot committed.

When the E! network created a show called "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" the implication built into the title was that this was a family that it would be difficult to keep pace with. We have seen Khloe Kardashian: most people could keep up with her in the 40 yard dash if their shoe laces were tied together. She is a lovely girl, but obviously doesn't spend much time in the gym.
