The Western genre continues its resurgence with this drama from actor-director Ed Harris. Based on Robert B. Parker's novel, APPALOOSA follows a pair of lawmen (played by Harris and Viggo Mortensen) who must unite over their town's crisis as they're divided over their mutual love of a woman (Renée Zellweger).

With its roots in reality, this thriller explores the dangers for Muslims who live in European and american cities where anti-Islam sentiments can run high. Pakistan-born policeman Tariq Ali (Naseerudin Shah, MONSOON WEDDING) lives in London with his English wife (Greta Scacchi) in the wake of the July 2005 terrorist attacks on the tube. As he begins to investigate a man accused of terrorism--who was killed as a result of the city's "Shoot on Sight" policy--he realizes he is caught between his prejudiced coworkers and his fellow Muslims. SHOOT ON SIGHT also stars Om Puri, Brian Cox, Laila Rouass, and Sadie Frost.

In this film, Mr. Shi (Henry O) comes to the United States to see his divorced daughter, Yilan (Faye Yu). Mr. Shi soon discovers that it wasn't just age and the distance separating him from his daughter, and he tries to learn more about Yilan, despite her best efforts.

Actor Stuart Townsend directs his longtime lady love (and Oscar winner) Charlize Theron in this drama about the World Trade Organization protests in Seattle in 1999. BATTLE IN SEATTLE recreates the events by mixing historical film with reenactments from big name stars, including André Benjamin, Woody Harrelson, Ray Liotta, Michelle Rodriguez, and Channing Tatum.

After the success of the documentary BUS 174, José Padilha directs this drama set in Rio de Janeiro's favelas in 1997. The captain of the state police force (Wagner Maura) faces pressure from within and without, as he seeks his own replacement so he can devote his time to being a father instead of fighting the seemingly impossible battle against crime. ELITE SQUAD (TROPA DE ELITE) is based on the experiences of one of its screenwriters, Rodrigo Pimental. Padilha and CITY OF GOD's Bráulio Mantovani also earn credit for the script.

Jennifer Aniston and Steve Zahn make for an adorable would-be couple in this romantic comedy. Aniston (THE BREAK-UP) stars as Sue, a saleswoman who stops into Mike's (Zahn, SAHARA) motel on a sales trip. Business soon turns to pleasure, and the pair has a quick affair before she leaves. But after Sue's departure, Mike realizes that his heart might have walked out the door with her, and he's soon in quick pursuit.
