New Data Suggest Long-Term Treatment With BARACLUDE® (entecavir) May Reduce Liver Damage Caused By Chronic Hepatitis B
Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE:BMY) announced data from two separate cohort evaluations, in which long-term treatment with BARACLUDE® (entecavir) was associated with improved liver histology, including improvement in fibrosis, in chronic hepatitis B patients. The histology data were presented at the 59th Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

(NASDAQ: SCLN) and Sigma-Tau S.p.A. today announced top-line results from a large, randomized, phase 3 clinical trial evaluating thymalfasin in combination with pegylated interferon alpha-2a (peg-IFN-2a) and ribavirin (RBV) as a treatment for patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) who have not responded to prior therapy consisting of peg-IFN and RBV alone (current standard of care).
