Good Mental Health Prevents Falls: Australian National University Study
Good mental health plays an essential role in keeping elderly people on their feet and preventing major injury through falls, according to research from The Australian National University. The study of 787 adults with an average age of 78 was led by Associate Professor Kaarin Anstey of the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research (CMHR).

Health Needs Of Somerset's Growing Older Population Highlighted In Public Health Report, UK
The challenges and demands upon future health and social care services from the rapidly growing number of older people in Somerset has been highlighted in a new report. In her Annual Public Health report for 2007/08, Dr Caroline Gamlin, the Joint Director of Public Health for Somerset, writes that there are now more people over 65 years old than under 18 in the county and this is set to rapidly rise over the next 20 years.
