Probiotic found to be effective treatment for colitis in mice
(American Physiological Society) The probiotic, Bacillus polyfermenticus, can help mice recover from colitis. Mice treated with B.P. during the non-inflammatory period of the disease had reduced rectal bleeding, their tissues were less inflamed and they gained more weight than mice that did not receive the treatment.

Latest analysis confirms suboptimal vitamin D levels in millions of US children
(Children's hospital Boston) A new study appearing in the upcoming Pediatrics suggests that children between the ages of 1 and 11 may suffer from optimal levels of vitamin D, and black and Hispanic children are particularly at risk. The research builds on growing evidence that levels have fallen below what has been considered healthy.

Lipitor and erectile dysfunction
