The company will be the first of the 3G licensees to offer 3G services, one month after being granted the licence. VinaPhone has concluded tests successfully for video calls, mobile TV and internet services over its 3G network, Viet Nam Net reports citing deputy director Ho Duc Thang. Prices will be announced at launch. Rivals Viettel, MobiFone, and the EVN Telecom partnership with Hanoi Telecom have yet to introduce 3G services.

The company will offer four devices that can access 3G as well as Wimax networks from December. The terminals are manufactured by Hitachi and are expected to retail for JPY 20,000 to 30,000, the Nikkei reports. KDDI will offer different plans with a flat-fee plan expected to cost JPY 5,000 to 6,000 per month. MVNO Japan Communications is expected to offer a similar service this year. To offer the Wimax service, both companies will lease spectrum from Wimax operator UQ Communications.
