Criminal gangs have acquired administrative log-in credentials to more than 200,000 Web sites -- including the one used by the U.S. Postal Service -- and have used compromised domains to attack users' PCs, researcher Ian Amit said today.

A federal grand jury has indicted two European men for allegedly orchestrating denial-of-service attacks against a pair of U.S.-based Web sites in 2003.
