Egypt inks $2.3bn exploration deals
The Egyptian Oil Ministry has announced the signing of six agreements to explore for oil and natural gas with BP Plc and IEOC, a unit of Italy's Eni SpA, Bloomberg has reported. The $2.3bn agreements aim to explore for oil and gas in the Eastern Desert, the Nile Delta, the Gulf of Suez and the northern Sinai.

Kuwait Energy uncovers fourth Egypt field
Kuwait Energy Company (KEC), has announced the discovery of a new oil field, Al Zahraa, in East Ras Qattara in the Western Desert, Egypt, with a daily production rate of 2,615 barrels of oil. This is KEC's fourth discovery in Egypt since the start of its exploration program in the country in 2006. KEC's share and working interest of the field is 49.5%. The East Ras Qattara Concession, which is operated by Sipetrol, was acquired in March 2008.
