Casspi gets enough minutes to shine
Kings rookie SF Omri Casspi, who broke through with 22 points in his last preseason game, got a chance to start Wednesday at Oklahoma City. He finished with 17 points, four assists, three rebounds and three steals in 28 minutes. "Casspi just keeps making steps every game to prove that he belongs on the court. When you have a player who keeps playing like that, he's an easy guy to put in the game," coach Paul Westphal said.

Nocioni breaks out with 19 points
Kings SF Andres Nocioni, who had gotten off to a slow start this preseason, broke out with a team-high 19 points in 26 minutes off the bench Thursday at Oklahoma City. He also had five rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block, shooting 7 for 14 from the field and 3 for 7 from 3-point range. "It was nice to see Nocioni break out like that. We all know he's a really good player, but he's kind of had a slow start in training camp," Kings coach Paul Westphal said. "That was a big thing."

K. Brown to have tests on hurt hand
Pistons C Kwame Brown sat out Thursday's preseason game against the Timberwolves with a hand injury. Pistons coach John Kuester said before the game that he expected Brown to play, but he didn't. "We still haven't seen the final results of the tests," Kuester said after the game, adding that Brown is questionable for Friday's preseason finale in Milwaukee.

Bynum should be ready for opener
Lakers C Andrew Bynum missed Thursday's preseason game against the Nuggets with a strained right rotator cuff. He's day-to-day and could play in the Lakers' final exhibition game against Denver in San Diego on Friday. But Bynum said he will "definitely" be back for the season opener Tuesday against the Clippers.
