Shockey has another big performance
Saints TE Jeremy Shockey, who topped 50 yards receiving for the first time all season last week, did so again Week 8 against the Falcons, catching five passes for 72 yards. He played both games with a shoulder injury.

Colston gets TD in third straight
Saints WR Marques Colston again played a big role on offense Week 8 against the Falcons, scoring a touchdown for the third straight game. He finished with six catches for 85 yards, giving him an average of 108 yards over his last three games. His touchdown came on an 18-yard pass from QB Drew Brees in the second quarter.

R. Bush again vultures a touchdown
Once again, Saints RB Reggie Bush played a minimal role on offense Week 8 against the Falcons, and once again, he scored a touchdown anyway, lunging in from 1-yard out in the second quarter. He finished with two carries for 3 yards and two catches for 11 yards, giving him a total of 64 yards over his last three games, yet he has three touchdowns during that stretch.

M. Bell does little on 17 carries
Saints RB Mike Bell, who ran for 80 yards on 12 carries last week at Miami, ran for only 49 yards on 17 carries Week 8 against the Falcons. He went without a touchdown for a second straight game. He also lost a fumble.

P. Thomas gets in end zone twice
Saints RB Pierre Thomas, who hadn't scored a touchdown since Week 4 against the Jets, scored two Week 8 against the Falcons, one on a 22-yard run in the first quarter and the other one a 1-yard catch in the fourth. He finished with 14 carries for 91 yards and had two catches for 9 yards. He also lost a fumble.

Brees gets multiple scores again
Saints QB Drew Brees, whose only multi-touchdown game over his last four was his four-score effort against the Giants in Week 6, threw two touchdown passes Week 8 against the Falcons -- an 18-yarder to Marques Colston in the second quarter and a 1-yarder to Pierre Thomas in the fourth. Brees finished 25 of 33 for 308 yards, giving him his fourth 300-yard game of the season. He did, however, throw an interception and lose a fumble.

Gonzalez goes for season-high 89
Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez, who averaged only 40 receiving yards over his last four games, had a season-high 89 on six catches at New Orleans in Week 8. He went without a touchdown, giving him only one in his last five games.

Saints fend off Falcons to improve mark to 7-0
Drew Brees had 308 yards passing, Pierre Thomas scored two touchdowns and Jabari Greer returned an interception for a score to help the Saints improve to 7-0 with a 35-27 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. Only the 1991 Saints began a season with as many wins.
