Google launches free music downloads in China
(Telecompaper) Google has launched its free download service for licensed songs in China, while sharing advertising revenue with major music labels, Reuters reported. The service offers downloads of about 350,000 songs from Chinese and foreign artists. Music from artists signed by Sony Music, Warner Music, EMI and Universal Music will be available on the service. Users will be able to search by musical measurements such as the level of beat in a song and instrumentality, as well as by artist and song name.

Telekom Slovenije acquires Cosmofon, Germanos Macedonia
(Telecompaper) Telekom Slovenije has won the bidding to acquire Greek operator OTE's Macedonian subsidiary Cosmofon and retail chain Germanos Telecom Skopje for EUR 190 million. Cosmofon has an almost 30 percent share of Macedonia's mobile market. Germanos Telecom Skopje is Cosmofon's main distributor in the country with a network of 66 shops. Telekom Slovenije is already present on the Macedonian market through internet service provider On.net. OTE is selling Cosmofon after Deutche Telekom took a stake in the Greek operator. T-Mobile is already active in Macedonia.
