MotionPlus title off to a flyerWii sports Resort only launched on July 24th, officially introducing the Wiimote-enhancing MotionPlus peripheral, and now we hear from Nintendo that the game has sold over a million copies in Western markets.According to reports, Wii Sports Resort has sold 600,000 copies in Europe - 100,000 more than the half-million figure topped in the United States.The game has been the UK's best-seller for two weeks running, and it is the fourth biggest selling Wii title released to date, based on these early numbers.MotionPlus is widely regarded as taking the Wiimote to the level of sensitivity needed for future game evolution, and given that Wii Sports Resort is bundled with the device, we're expecting further huge sales.

Publisher bringing back old Silent Hill and MGS titlesSpeaking this weekend, Japanese publisher Konami has said that they are set to reissue a number of hit PS2 games - pricing them between 10 and 20 GBP in the UK.Konami revealed that several Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill favourites would comprise the re-released titles, while speaking with UK site Eurogamer.net.Suikoden Tactics, Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Silent Hill 2, 3 and 4 comprise the collection be delivered..More from Konami as we get it.

The Opposable Thumbs blog reports on a confluence of rumors and information leaks that suggest Sony will be unveiling a PS3 Slim sooner rather than later. Despite waning console sales, orders for PS3-related hardware have risen sharply. There's evidence to suggest that Sony is phasing out its 80GB model, which would help clear the way for a hardware revision. Two packs to follow title, initially, says BowlingSpeaking after Activision inferred that Modern Warfare 2 might only get two downloadable map packs after launch, Infinity Ward have added that more could come later and that nothing is set in concrete yet."As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support Modern Warfare 2 heavily with post launch support. We've confirmed we'll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for Xbox 360," designer Rob Bowling told MTV."The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn't mean there won't be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs."Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that."Fingers crossed the developer can be coerced into adding more to their opus later.
