Sina's acquisition of Focus Media falls through(Telecompaper) The acquisition agreement between Chinese online media and mobile VAS company Sina and Focus Media has fallen through. In December

The agreement was set to expire if approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce was not received by 30 September 2009. Although Sina still believes that the acquisition can provide strong synergies to its online advertising platform, the delayed consummation of the transaction has negatively impacted the business operations of both sides. The companies have decided to continue strategic cooperation.
