Amazon Saturday, October 03, 2009Why Google Chrome Frame Makes Mozilla Firefox Folks UneasyMozilla's Mitchell Baker and Mike Shaver both lamented Google's release of Chrome Frame in blog posts. Analysts from IDC, Forrester Research and Gartner weigh in on the messy issue. At the end of it all, Chrome Frame is about helping Google gain more market share for Chrome. - Add Mozilla to the list of vendors exasperated by Google Chrome Frame, a plug-in to essentially let users run Google's Chrome Web browser in the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser container. eWEEK Saturday, October 03, 2009Did Chicago Lose Olympic Bid Due To US Passport Control? An anonymous reader writes "Yesterday, Chicago lost its bid for the 2016
olympics (which went to Rio de Janiero instead), and it's looking very likely that US border procedures were one of the main factors which knocked Chicago out of the race: 'Among the toughest questions posed to the Chicago bid team this week in Copenhagen was one that raised the issue of what kind of welcome foreigners would get from airport officials when they arrived in this country to attend the Games. following Chicago's official presentation, pointed out that entering the
united states can be "a rather harrowing experience." ... The exchange underscores what tourism officials here have been saying for years about the sometimes rigorous entry process for foreigners, which they see as a deterrent to tourism.'"Read more of this story at Slashdot.

Its second update in a week is the first to restore iTunes syncing for the Pre since iTunes 8.2 and will let the Pre take media from iTunes 9.0.1 as though it were a native device in the jukebox software. It even adds deeper integration and will now sync photo albums as well as lower-resolution versions that save space on the phone....
macnn.com Saturday, October 03, 2009Review: Screen Capture with LittleSnapper and VoilaLittleSnapper v1.5.1 and Voila v2.1 are screen capture and markup applications, allowing users to capture their screen, desktop, application windows or web pages. Both utilities can also add callouts, including arrows, circles and instructional text. LittleSnapper is able to capture all web pages, regardless of the elements used but is limited in its adjustment tools and parameter controls. Conversely, Voila features expanded filters and adjustment tools but mishandled some Flash web pages. In our latest review our reviewer contrasts the two apps and elucidates the...
