Vodacom Group is in the process of finalising its interim results for the six months ended 30 September, which are
expected to be
released on 9 November. In a trading update,
the company said that despite more difficult trading conditions, particularly outside its home market, revenues for the period
should be up 10 percent year-on-year and EBITDA up 8 percent. However, headline earnings were affected by higher finance charges and losses on the remeasurement of
financial instruments, as well as the reversal of a deferred tax asset of ZAR 500 million due to weak results at Vodacom DRC. Vodacom said it also expects to recognise impairment losses of approximately ZAR 3.2 billion, mainly in relation to the Gateway acquisition as a result of recent adverse changes in the
