About Sunday, August 09, 2009Bizarre talk up Blur technologyFuture games will use current workUK developer Bizarre Creations have been talking up the technology underneath the hood of their new racing game Blur, also stating that the work they're doing on this game will be used on future projects.Ben Ward tells Kikizo that the game will offer support for twenty players in
online multiplayer action, and features like this will be big in the future."Obviously there were new challenges that had to be taken on. 20 cars on track for one is a pretty massive technical hurdle, and also networking, doing 20 player multiplayer is a really big deal," Ward explained."So we've achieved those with this new engine as well, and the next few titles that we churn out will be literally built on that tech as well."More on Blur at GamesCom later this month.

Gamespot Sunday, August 09, 2009Infinity Ward unsure over MW2 map pack quotaTwo packs to follow title, initially, says BowlingSpeaking after Activision inferred that Modern Warfare 2 might only get two downloadable map packs after launch, Infinity Ward have added that more could come later and that nothing is set in concrete yet."As far as DLC goes, we love it and plan to support Modern Warfare 2 heavily with post launch support. We've confirmed we'll be doing AT LEAST two map packs which were
announced at E3 as a timed exclusive for
xbox 360," designer Rob Bowling told MTV."The fact that we confirmed at least two map packs doesn't mean there won't be more; honestly we plan on shaping our DLC based on community feedback from the full game, and first two DLC map packs."Therefore, the community will really determine what comes after that."Fingers crossed the developer can be coerced into adding more to their opus later.
Ferrago Sunday, August 09, 2009Dragon Age now due in NovemberRPG pushed back a couple of weeksSpeaking to giant US website IGN, BioWare have conceded that their massive new RPG Dragon Age: Origins is going to miss the originally scheduled October 20th debut. Don't panic, however, the game is set to arrive in November instead."Dragon Age Origins will be
released on November 3 in North America and November 6 in Europe for
xbox 360 and PC," BioWare explain. "The PS3 version will follow later in November."Luckily this slip is a fairly modest one, the new dates being near enough to the old one to suggest EA and BioWare are confident the title will be on schedule. A number of other big name releases haven't been so lucky, with dozens of big games having been pushed into early 2010 from previously planned Christmas releases.
