released earlier this year, Capcom's retro revival of the classic beat 'em up franchise wowing old school fans and critics alike. There could be more to come, too.Chatting on a Japanese Street Fighter blog, hardcore fan Natsuki Shiozawa claims that an official Street Fighter announcement will soon be made by the publisher. It is unclear how trustworthy this source is, given news-of-news is usually not be indulged in. Then again, while this might not be Street Fighter V, it could be a new flavour based on IV.Capcom has previously hinted that fresh characters could be added to the game in the near future, producer Yoshinori Ono having in the past said that T.Hawk and Dee Jay are on the way.More soon. Thanks IGN.
Ferrago Sunday, September 20, 2009Another advert hints at Wii price drop in USBest Buy joins 50 USD splicingBlogs across the interweb have already grabbed snapshots of Target and Toys R Us adverts purporting to reveal that the Wii will soon fall to 199 USD in the United States - a new Best Buy circular adding further weight to this rumour today.Kotaku have a shot of what apparently appears to be a new Wii advertisement from the giant US retail chain, with Best Buy also back up the 50 USD drop.Nintendo have steadfastly refused to confirm this drop, despite the growing weight of evidence, and clamours from business-types, who believe a drop is needed if the Big N can avert flagging sales.Indeed, Nintendo tell us that the drop in question is retail-led, but with another big store slashing their prices as Christmas approaches, it seems hard to imagine the platform holder doesn't have some kind of hand in this. The PS3 and
xbox 360 both recently got sizeable price drops, further increasing the pressure on Nintendo. More as we get it.
Ferrago Sunday, September 20, 2009Turbine announce MMO for consoles360 and PS3 confirmed, Wii possible It has in the past been rumoured that
online game veterans Turbine (of Lord of the Rings Online fame) are plotting a new game for console platforms, work on the project confirmed by Craig Alexander, speaking in an address at GDC Austin last week.Work on the PS3 and
xbox 360 project has reportedly been underway for over a year, while Turbine are even considering a Wii release too.Turbine have invested a whopping 20 million USD in the unnamed project, which may or may not be linked to the developer's Lord of the Rings license. A release in early 2011 is hoped for.So confident was the speaker in the merits of the new project that he enthused the new title could over-take rival PC MMO titles in terms of experience. That's quite a claim, given the distinct lack of MMOs on consoles so far. Thanks VG247.

IGN Entertainment Sunday, September 20, 2009Fresh art from ex-Ensemble Halo game spiedArtist's blog reveals work on Halo Universe? Halo Wars creators Ensemble may have been closed down by Microsoft after the release of this popular RTS title, but that doesn't mean all is quiet on this front. Quite the opposite, in fact, with new Halo-related artwork leaking out of the defunct game maker.First we heard talk of a Halo MMO project that never reached fruition, and now yet more concept images reach us on what could be a game called Halo Universe - which may or may not be related to the
online game that never was.Vast, future cityscapes would have been the order of the day if this art is anything to go by - while artist Dylan Cole's website apparently lets slip work on the project. The caption below one piece reads "Halo Universe City", which perhaps hints at the game's name, beyond just a description of the setting.Cole isn't giving any more away on this impressive art just yet, but having already admitted the pictures related to a canceled project it seems likely the
