New Department Of Eagles - ''No One Does It Like You'' (Album Version)

It's been a year and a half since Dan Rossen and his longtime songwriting partner Fred Nicolaus dropped us a demo of "No One Does It Like You" as a tease to the duo's first Department Of Eagles album since their years-old debut Whitey And The Moon UK. It wasn't that D.O.E.'s next album was then imminent, per se, but I also don't think things weren't supposed to take quite this long to launch -- you can probably blame that on Grizzly Bear's nonstop activity and various offers they could not refuse. Anyway the time has finally come, or it least it will come in about six weeks, when In Ear Park makes its way out on 4AD. We heard the title track earlier this summer, and now it's the album version of what logically must-be-the-album's-best-s... because-it-is-really-good, "No One Does It Like You."

The Walkmen, Awkwardly Interviewed By Fox 5

There's also a performance of "On The Water," and despite how much we love You & Me, it's the awesomely awkward banter that's worth the click. Also it's a nice guide of things not to try and small talk about with Ham: inspiration, buses, Paul Shaffer, anything at all. Watch it at Fox 5.

Music Review: The Briggs - Come All You Madmen

A punk rock album not over processed or created purely for sales. The Briggs are a punk rock act that had a hard time getting to me. I am not saying that I was forced to listen to them; rather I missed many occasions to sample them in the past. I either heard a song by them on a compilation and never researched it or simply showed up to a live show just as they left the stage. Missed opportunities did not...

Music Review: Julie Fowlis - Cuilidh

If you can't recognize that as magic then I feel sorry for you. It's been a source of continual amazement for me to watch the way different cultural traditions have gone in and out of style with the various flakes and fakes selling salvation under the catch all of New Age. Initially it probably started in the '60s when pop stars started to traipse off to India looking for a quick fix of spiritualism to...

Music Review: The Walkmen- You & Me

For their fourth record, The Walkmen serve up a more experimental sound from them to you. The title of The Walkmen’s fourth album is no accident. Not only do a majority of the album’s lyrics seem to analyze interpersonal experiences of the past but musically, according to Gigantic Music’s press release, it also honors some of the band’s biggest influences such as Roy Orbison, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, and Bob...

What's Going On With Country Singer Jimmy Wayne?

The latest Jimmy Wayne news. Jimmy's newest hit, “Do You Believe Me Now,” is one of those songs. I’m driving in the car and the song comes on and I squeal, “Oh my God!
