Fewer Amenities When You Fly... But Instead You'll Get A Lot More Ads!

Have you flown lately? It's becoming less and less enjoyable by the day, it seems. Many airlines are dumping features, adding fees and making sure customer service is about as frustrating as possible. On top of all that, it appears that airlines are so focused on cost cutting that they're looking to do whatever possible to shave the slightest bit of weight from each flight (fewer passengers would be one suggestion) including one airline that discovered removing seatback magazines saved thousands of dollars by making the airplane lighter (yes, seriously). So, what do you have to look forward to on flights these days? Well, advertisements! There's a new startup that is promising to put contextual ads everywhere from your boarding pass to the check-in terminals and (we're sure) to the seatbacks in front of you on the plane. Now, of course, this idea isn't entirely new. Over in Europe discount airlines have been offering up cheap fares while making it up with all sorts of other fee

Well I had to go somewhere for my holiday

I did say I wanted a beach holiday a while back and I wanted it to be pretty cheap... So Blackpool it is... Hey and perfect timing, for rain, rain and more rain. Does not matter, hotel has free wifi, the rollercoasters are all running and I got myself an extended weekend. So having just booked the whole thing 5 mins ago (yes its 7am now) I'll sleep, wake up, pack and jump on the scooter. I don't expect to do much more that walk on the beach, check out the rollercoasters and head into the arcades. Maybe I might find some of the classics and end up spending my pocket money on Ridge Racer like I use to when I would spend some time in Weston Super-Mare (the blackpool of the south west don't you know?). Well what ever I do its going to be relaxing... Comments [2] Trackbacks [0]

Watchmen Trailer

Watchmen Trailer is out; and it’s a complete peach of a trailer. It’s kinda harrowing that Moore isn’t interested in the movie, because if anything Snyder really does seem to have made something special here. ‘Based on the graphic novel illustrated by Dave Gibbons’ - what a shame, Alan Moore’s name should be there as [...]

Road Runner Hawaii Blows It

While I was on the west coast my wife called me and said here email quit working. I had noticed that an email I had sent her had bounced which was not a good sign. When I got home I tried to login to my master road runner account and I was blocked as well. Calling Road Runner they informed my master account had been reset to a completely different username when we moved in October. Well here it is July and they finally decided to cancel the previous master account that was in their system, and when they did that the killed all of our email accounts with it. Luckily no one snagged the old email addresses in the 2 days we have been booted out of their system. What is shocking here is that no one informed me of the change or that I had a new master account. I have had the old account for 10 years and it has survived moves before. Typical miscommunication by Time Warner. All turned out well though but it came at a pretty critical time when a parent is in the hospital and em
