Description of the premium news widgets (and raw RSS feeds)

Short description

Premium news widgets from Feedzilla are Web widgets that allow website owners to add constantly updated news aggregated from the RSS feeds of Feedzilla's media partners to their own website.

Long description

The aggregation

Feedzilla has been aggregating the content of RSS news feeds from thousands of partners. The latter are online publishers such as News Corp., the BBC, the Sun,… The aggregated articles are then stored on our servers.

The filtering

The articles stored in Feedzilla’s database go through a filtering process which consists in removing irrelevant articles thanks to in-house algorithms.

The update

The RSS news sources are scanned one an hour and new articles are detected and then added to Feedzilla’s database after undergoing the filtering process described above.

Selecting news feeds

You can select news feeds from a list of thousands of pre-defined categories and sub-categories. You can also use a search engine to pick the custom news feed you need.

The delivery of the service

The selected news feeds can then be made available to you in 2 forms:

  • Widgets
The RSS feeds are proposed to you in a form of Web widgets in order to allow you to easily and effortlessly add the news feed to their website. With the widgets, you can customize the look and feel of the way the selected news feeds will look once added onto a website. The last step consists in giving you a short piece of code to be added into the code of their own website. There are 3 fully customizable premium news widgets:
    • Content Patches Content patches allow you to add the content of Feedzilla’s news feeds to their own website using server side technology (ASP, PHP).
    • Content Boxes Content Boxes are similar to Content Patches mentioned above but the code given is Javascript.
    • Content Tickers These make the content of the news feeds scroll horizontally or vertically. The code given is Javascript.

  • "Raw" RSS feeds
"Raw" RSS feeds allow persons with technical skills to use the selected news feeds in XML format.

How does Feedzilla work?

Feedzilla is a news aggregator which categorizes news stories by topic. It is a platform where webmasters and bloggers can find an unmatched selection of easy to use, automatically updating and professional news widgets for their sites. Feedzilla supports the building of widgets in various formats, as well as allowing the addition of news widgets to different blogging platforms and social networks.

Feedzilla manually aggregates news summaries found in RSS feeds, and redistributes them in either RSS format or as a news widget. Content is collected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from an ever-growing list of providers.
