CabinVu Gains Validation STC from CAAC

AD Aerospace Video Security Systems Can be Fitted to Chinese Airlines AD Aerospace has obtained a Validation of Supplemental Type Certificate (VSTC) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for its CabinVu and CabinVu-123 Cockpit Door Monitoring Systems on Boeing 737 aircraft. These systems enhance the security of a passenger airliner by helping to protect the cockpit from Hijack and Air Rage incidents by providing the pilots with a live view of the area outside the flight deck door. ''Gaining A VSTC from the CAAC is a huge achievement and significant step for AD Aerospace,'' said Mike Horne, Managing Director, AD Aerospace Ltd. ''This allows us access to the growing and vibrant market in mainland China and enables us to help Chinese airlines to improve the safety and security offering they provide to their passengers and crew.'' This VSTC covers the entire Boeing 737 family of aircraft using installation designs produced by Aircraft Engineering and Installation Services Inc of Orlando, Florida, USA. CabinVu and CabinVu-123, which has less LRUs, lower weight and simplified installation than earlier systems, provide pilots with a forward looking, clear and unobstructed view of the area outside the cockpit door and in the adjacent galleys from their usual seated positions. A series of cameras are linked to either one or two monitors and associated controllers within easy reach of the pilots for ease and comfort of use. With the real time video provided by the system the pilots can visually identify anyone requesting entry and take appropriate action, should an incident arise. This is in line with recommendations from ICAO Annex 6, EUROCAE ED-123 and provides compliance with EU-OPS 1.1255 Sub Part S, FAA 14 CFR 121.313(k) and 14 CFR 121.584. FlightVu equipment has been or is being installed on aircraft for, Boeing, airBaltic, Austrian Airlines, GECAS, ILFC, Neos, Privilege, Orient Thai, Comair, Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong Airways, bmi, British Airways, JetBlue, Thomsonfly, Air Asia, Corsair, easyJet, Sky Europe, Air Europa, Germania, TUIfly, Sama and MyTravel amongst others. Free content on Feedzilla - Mattresses

EMTEQ Granted FAA STC on 400cd LED Anti-collision Light

EMTEQ, a leading provider of interior and exterior LED (light emitting diode) and aircraft systems integration and certification, has been granted FAA STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) ST03595AT for the industry's first 400cd (candela) anti-collision exterior light. Flight Components AG, an EMTEQ Company, located in Switzerland, in conjunction with EMTEQ's Wisconsin headquarters, is the primary designer of the light. EMTEQ's launch customer, Lynden Air Cargo, is installing the 400cd light on L-382 aircraft, making this light an excellent option for retrofit replacement on C-130 and many other similar-sized military as well as most Part 25 civilian aircraft. Sam Matar, EMTEQ's Director - Global Aftermarket Business Development explains: ''We've designed the light so that internal components should remain unchanged regardless of the installation. The adapter plate interface may be different from model to model, but once certified on a particular aircraft, the installation is greatly simplified.'' Other benefits to EMTEQ's newest anti-collision light compared to non-LED lights, in addition to its intelligent design include: Use of COB (chip-on-board) technology for significantly more compact packaging Longer life with reduced replacement and maintenance costs Lighter weight for reduced fuel costs EMTEQ's other exterior lighting products include tail and navigation lights; anti-collision and combination light assemblies. All are designed and manufactured to respective Joint Aviation or Federal Aviation Requirements (JAR/FAR); meet RTCA-DO-160 and Mil-STD-810 standards and many have TSO/ETSO approval as well. Many custom design applications are in development. Free RSS news feeds on Feedzilla - Mattresses

VEM Delivers B-747 TO Air Atlanta Icelandic

With the delivery of one more B-747 widebody, in this particular event, to Air Atlanta Icelandic, VEM Maintenance and Engineering reaffirms to the market that offering technical competence along with competitive prices, it compensates for airlines from anywhere in the world to send their airplanes for maintenance services at VEM facilities, in Brazil. Crossing the Atlantic Ocean, over 10,000 kilometers away, Air Atlanta Icelandic arrived at VEM's hangars, in Rio de Janeiro, on March 19, 2008, and, on May 18, 2008, the B747-230B (TF-ARM) aircraft was delivered to the company, after performing structural repairs to the pylons, as well as other structural services requested during the course of the original work order completion. Company engineers constantly accompanied the services performed by VEM, that dedicated a large team of technicians and engineers specifically to this job, in order to reduce the plane's downtime to an absolute minimum. Upon receiving the aircraft, Air Atlanta Icelandic expressed great satisfaction with the technical quality of VEM's team, which is certified for B747 aircraft (ANAC/FAA/EASA) for many years. VEM's Marketing and Sales Vice-President, Nestor Koch, expressed how pleased the company was to receive the airplane from Iceland: ''We have performed services for airlines from many different countries, such as the Ukraine, Thailand, India, Spain and Portugal and it is always gratifying to receive an airplane from a different country, for the first time, because it proves that nor only the domestic market (where all airlines are our Customers) but also several international airlines trust VEM, technically, besides that our prices are internationally competitive'', he ends. Free RSS news feeds on Feedzilla - Mattresses
