What should President Barack Obama tackle first?
Does anybody know what brand of cigarettes Obama smokes? I peg him for Kool or Newport. After he quits smoking, he needs to build about 40 nuke plants, which should solve our unemployment and energy problem. Then figure out somewhere to dump all those idiots on Wall Street. I'd say we need to hire some monks or monkeys to run the stock markets, they'd certainly be more honest.

Coming Chaos? Maybe Not - NewsTrust Yahoo Pipes Feed
This essay was written by (TOD user greenuprising), a former professor in the social sciences at an eastern U.S. university who I now know as a local farmer. At a recent Farmers' Market, I suggested that we needed a more empirical and scholarly discussion of the potential for social breakdown, especially violence, during energy descent. A sizable subset of what some on this site call "doomers" are convinced that the demise of the petroleum economy will bring social breakdown and a violent struggle of all against all. Some are even preparing for the chaos to come. I'm convinced we have to take end-of-affluence scenarios, including the scarier ones, seriously. But it can help everyone ...
