Deal reached in Senate over economic stimulus plan: reports
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- Senators reached a tenative deal on a $780 billion economic stimulus plan late Friday, CNN reported. Dow Jones Newswires, citing a senior Democratic source, also reported that a compromise is being circulated. Senators have been working to whittle down the overall cost of the package, aiming at a price tag of about $800 billion. The plan, combining infrastructure spending and tax cuts, had grown to nearly $1 trillion. The Senate may vote as early as Friday night on the package.
