If you were nominated for a cabinet position, would your ethics pass muster?
Nanny Ninnie wrote: No, I have a nanny problem. When my children were young, we hired a nanny for a year. She had worked at the infant daycare where we initially enrolled our son. She was eager to leave, and after 9 months of continual ear infections, colds and stomach viruses, so were we.We weren't wealthy, and paying her was like paying a really big second mortgage, but that actually wasn't the reason we didn't pay Social Security or deduct taxes from her pay. Should the government be able to limit pay for executives at companies receiving federal aid?
wsrita wrote: George_Miller wrote: Executive compensation should be set by the shareholders, not the Federal Government. Change the law / SEC regulations so that all executive compensation must be approved by a vote of the shareholders on a yearly basis. Executive compensation should be set by the shareholders, AND THE EMPLOYEES.If the executives can decide the compensation of the employees, then the employees, who know best how the company is doing, should have a say in how much the corporate officers can siphon off for themselves, no matter how lousy a job are doing. Even better if the shareholders and employees could fire their management that is failing.Such a plan could have kept a lot of totally irresponsible corporates from killing their own companies. However, as long as companies are using TAXPAYER MONEY then they must be subject to the rules that the taxpayers, through their representatives, and the president decide on.
