General Mills Q3 profit falls, Ups FY09 earnings view; Shares down - Update
Wednesday, U.S. food giant General Mills Inc reported a 32.8% decline in profit for the third quarter, hurt by a tax expense, lower one-time gains, as well as higher costs. On an adjusted basis, earnings per share dropped 9.2%, missing market projections. However, the company modestly lifted its fiscal 2009 adjusted earnings forecast, yet below Wall Street view. The shares are currently down around 8% on the New York Stock Exchange.
