Asian markets mostly lower; airline stocks down in Tokyo HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- Asian markets were mostly lower early Thursday, with Japanese stocks led downward by airlines and pharmaceutical shares, although exporters and financials gained on a weakened yen and overnight gains on Wall Street. The Nikkei 225 Average fell 0.5% at 8,436.94 in early morning trade, and the broader Topix Index lost 0.6% to 813.22.
