Gold futures end lower as U.S. dollar rallies NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Gold futures fell Wednesday, joining a broad-based sell-off in commodities, as a stronger U.S. dollar reduced the precious metal's appeal as a hedge against a weaker currency. Gold for August delivery slipped $11.90, or 1.3%, to Mining.comFlowserve Q2 Profit Declines, Yet Tops Estimate; Lifts FY09 EPS Outlook Wednesday, industrial pump and valve maker Flowserve Corp. (FLS), reported a decline in second-quarter earnings from last year, hurt by charges related to the its restructuring initiatives. Earnings for the quarter, however, came in above Street estimates.
