Two gainers at Nasdaq Dubai
Shares of Dubai Ports (DP) World ended 1.12% higher at $0.36 with around 11.3m shares changing hands. The global marine terminal operator today announced it handled more than 20 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent container units) across its portfolio of 49 terminals in the first six months of 2009. Those terminals that are consolidated for accounting purposes reported a throughput of 12.3 million TEU, a decline of 10% against the same period last year. In the first half of the year DP World has opened new terminal developments at Doraleh, Djibouti and two terminals in Algeria, increasing the number of terminals to 49 across 27 countries. Interior design firm DEPA added 0.35%, closing at$0.57. The FTSE Nasdaq Dubai UAE Index closed at 1,651.58 points (up 1.37%). The FTSE NASDAQ Dubai UAE 20 index comprises stocks listed on Nasdaq Dubai, the Dubai Financial Market (DMF) and the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).

Microsoft Windows 7 Will See Rapid Adoption, Intel Says
Intel, one of Microsoft's high-profile corporate clients, will adopt the upcoming Windows 7 operating system, in a public reversal of its rejection of Vista in 2008. Intel executive vice president Sean Maloney predicted that the spread of Windows 7 through the enterprise would be relatively rapid, and perhaps capable of instigating a tech refresh among corporations whose economic belt-tightening had led them to refrain from updating their IT infrastructure.
