The first event, begun on Friday, was the $10k Pot Limit Holdem Championship, one of the many $10k events this year, of which we said yesterday that Andy Bloch was going to go deep in more of them than any other player. The very first charity Texas Holdem poker tournament was held recently under the new gaming laws in New Brunswick, and among the 81 poker players was the justice minister for the province. Described as an 'avid poker fan' the minister, TJ Burke, was allowed to play under the new law - along with the rest of the players, because at least 45 percent of the prize pool was going to a charity event, and only 35 percent given out as prize money.
