Event #18 ($5,000 No Limit Deuce-to-Seven Draw) was like watching a poker version of the old show Battle of the Network Stars. This wasn't because the final table contestants had to battle in the tug of war against Lou Ferrigno, but rather because everyone at the final table was a recognizable celebrity in the sport of poker. The last seven people left to battle for the championship were Erick Lindgren (who has already won a bracelet this year), David Benyamine, Tony G, Mike 'The Mouth' Matusow, Jeffrey Lisandro, and Tom Schneider.

Last time it was pro player Phil 'The Unabomber' Laak and Ali Eslami taking on Polaris, the poker playing Artificial Intelligence machine. This time it will be a group of online poker pros taking on Polaris 2, created by University of Alberta's Computer poker Research Group in order to explore the possibilities of AI advancement in direct competition with humans. Online poker room VC poker has come out with a guarantee that is surely to generate some buzz, even during the 39th annual World Series of poker taking place in Las Vegas currently. VC poker will be hosting poker tournaments that have a total of $2.5 million in guaranteed winnings, which means at least half a million dollars is going to go to the winner.
