I first met Scott Seiver at the 2007 World Series of poker. I noticed this jolly, happy go lucky guy playing poker, laughing, and having a good time. He looked like he'd be more at home as an extra in a Chris Farley or Adam Sandler movie than at a poker table. He didn't win any tournaments but he cashed in three events including a 44th and 32nd place finish. He is good friends with Isaac Haxton and Alex Melnikow and I would often find the three of them talking and cheering one another on. read more in pokerworks.com

During the director's cut International Week on NBC's hit poker show poker After Dark, players from France, Canada, Holland and Italy had already been eliminated. The two players left were Brad Booth and Patrik Antonius, and the prize was $120,000.

Sometimes a poker game can drag on and on for some time; this is one reason why poker tournaments are scheduled with rising blind levels, to make sure that players bust out as their stacks shrink in proportion to the rising blinds. But then again, sometimes it's just the action of the game that busts out players.

The perception of US players of foreign born players from Canada, Finland, Holland, Italy, and France is that they are highly aggressive and tough, and the players in this $120k competition proved it.

Relegated to a corner in the Amazon Room, fans stood four to five deep to watch one of the more star studded final tables at this year's World Series of poker. While many of the fans didn't understand the game they were watching, there was no shortage of thrills for them as the likes of Marcel Luske, Annie Duke, and Chris Ferguson battled one another for the bracelet.
