Today is Day 24 of the 39th annual World Series of poker, and the pros won't let up the pressure. It is almost like a feeding frenzy out there in the Amazon poker room at the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino, and the pros are the sharks. Layne Flack has recently joined the ranks of pros adding to their jewelry, and Mike Matusow or Ram Vaswani is about to join him. Today two events kick off, both new to this year's WSOP. Event 40 is a $2,500 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Low Ball event, and Event 41 is a $1,500 Mixed Holdem event.

Mike Matusow is known as 'the Mouth' because it seems like sometimes he can't keep his mouth shut. But Mike has gone through a number of evolutions from his early days as a poker pro, including getting healthier. Last year he made a prop bet with fellow pro Ted Forrest: $100k that he could drop down to 181 pounds by June 3rd of this year...

According to a recent press report online poker site Think Like A poker Pro.com has released a challenge that deals with hypnosis. Last year one of the more colorful characters at the World Series of poker was Italian poker pro Dario Minieri, who wore a bright yellow and red scarf. This along with his small size earned him the nickname Harry Potter, and he did work some magic at the games. This year he completed the spell by picking up a WSOP victory in the $2500 No Limit Holdem Six-Handed Event...

The Rio was jam packed with poker players as nearly 3,000 players filed into the hallways and tournament rooms to take part in another $1,500 NLHE tournament.
