The hit NBC show poker After Dark always has interesting theme weeks - one of their best ideas ever was Couples Week. The $20,000 buy-in, winner take all format was spiced up with three couples who are all very different from each other.

During the directors cut episode of Couples Week on the NBC show poker After Dark, three pairs of men and women competed for a single prize - $120,000. One couple, David Benyamine and Erica Schoenberg, was already cut in half as the former model and blackjack pro was sent packing. During this hand the cautious Italian that beat Erica, mixed it up with the movie star.

Today is Day 32 of the 2008 World Series of poker, and one $1,500 No Limit Holdem event will kick off while another $1,500 No Limit Holdem event will wrap up and declare a victor. We are more interested in projecting the winner at this point of the wrap up game since we don't know yet who will sign up to play in the other. The chip leaders in the Event 49 - $1,500 NLHE - include a couple of pros, which might seem counter to what we said in previous WSOP Forecasts that pros would avoid these small NLHE events. Event 46 has wrapped up at the 2008 World Series of poker, playing now in Las Vegas, and the winner takes home nearly one million dollars. The victory goes to Joe Commisso, who took down Event #46, a $5,000 buy in, No Limit Holdem Six Handed tournament. His prize of $911,855 came along with a coveted gold WSOP bracelet, a tangible sign of greatness in the poker world...

It took two days to thin the field of 2,317 entrants into Event #48 down to the final nine, but it took just a few scant hours for Alexandre Gomes to blow through the final table en route to his first World Series of poker bracelet...

A prize pool of over three million dollars was accumulated for Event #44, a $1,000 No Limit Texas Holdem event, which breaks the World Series of poker record for prize pools in this event. The $3.2 million prize pool came from the 879 players, 81 of which finished 'in the money' meaning they won a cash prize. The event topped the mark because it was a rebuy tournament, which means that for a limited time players who bust out can buy back in to the event for another $1,000...
