Amazing Race debut down 25% compared to last fall, Extreme Makeover down 20%Two Sunday reality staples both lost large numbers of viewers compared to their debuts last fall.Ratings for Sunday's debut episode of The Amazing Race 13 were down from last year, when the show had its best debut ever last November for season 12. Sunday, 10.29 million people watched, down significantly from the 13.8 million who tuned in last year, although that did follow a football game. It came in fourth place in its hour among viewers 18 to 49, according to TV By the Numbers, which means only Univision and The CW had lower numbers of young viewers.Extreme Makeover: Home Edition beat The Amazing Race by about 1.7 million viewers, but that was during the second hour of its two-hour debut. It was watched by justt 7.19 million viewers in its first hour, although it grew to 11.9 million viewers in its second hour. Contender drops host Sugar Ray Leonard for Tony Danza, announces boxersBesides changing networks and moving to Singapore, the boxing reality competition series The Contender will now be hosted by Tony Danza, of Taxi and Who's the Boss fame.Danza, who was a professional boxer in the 1970s, replaces Sugar Ray Leonard, who has hosted the show alone since season two (Sylvester Stallone didn't return after the first season). He told ESPN, 'Not only is it one of the best shows on television but one of the wildest shows ever dreamed up. I feel right back at home in this great boxing environment and I am looking forward to seeing this great group of fighters contend for the title.'ESPN has the names of all of the 16 new boxers, and talked to executive producer Jeff Wald, who said, 'I was in the interviews with all 16 of the guys and I think this is our best season yet personality-wise.
