Zadan, Meron and Berman Team for Lifetime Series DROP DEAD DIVA Lifetime Television today announced the pick up of Drop Dead Diva, a spirited new comedic drama series that puts a uniquely compelling twist on the age-old battle between brains and beauty. Drop Dead Diva tells the story of a shallow model-in-training who dies in a sudden accident only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, thoughtful and plus-size attorney. Drop Dead Diva is produced by Sony Pictures Television and is set to premiere on Lifetime Television in the Summer 2009. Executive producer Josh Schwartz tells ET that the series is about Lily and her sister Carol, a free-spirited aspiring actress living in the Valley in California. Many "Gossip Girl" fans are wondering if Lily's relationship with the young Rufus Humphrey (Matthew Settle) will be a storyline in the spin-off. Josh says that Rufus will not appear at the beginning of the series, but if the show get picked up for a few more seasons fans will be able to see the romantic relationship develop. The Internet and news media have been abuzz for quite some time now as to whether or not George Clooney will return to "ER" for the long-running show's final season. Now, "ER" Executive Producer John Wells lets the cat out of the bag. Or does he? "We are going to have a lot of people coming for the conclusion," Wells tells ET at the TCA panel for his new NBC series "Southland." "We have already done some: Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, Eric LaSalle. George is very busy; he is very handsome. He is just finishing up in Puerto Rico on a film. We have talked about it a couple of times. "We will be shooting down there at the end," continues Wells. "If he comes by and wants to do something, we will make it work. We have a wonderful cast now. That said, O'Brien is very much aware of the all the buzz about the changing of the guard, especially since nbc announced its plans for Jay Leno to have a one-hour nightly series at 10 p.m. ETITV exec Keith Richardson leaves Emmerdale after 24 years Veteran ITV drama executive Keith Richardson is to end his association with rural soap Emmerdale after 24 years overseeing the show.Richardson is stepping down as Emmerdale's executive producer, although he will remain as controller of drama for ITV subsidiary Yorkshire TV.ITV's head of continuing drama series, Steve Frost, will take over the running of the programme. Frost is a former Emmerdale series producer and executive producer of Coronation Street.He will continue in his ITV Network Centre commissioning role and carry on splitting his time between Leeds and London, although some of his current responsibilities will be shared among other executives in the drama department.Following the change at the top of the show, Emmerdale series producer Anita Turner has also decided to leave.
