The Baby Formula
Film Reviews: Structured as a mock docu, this brightly designed feature debut by vet stunt coordinator Alison Reid offers feisty, sometimes lowbrow fun. Incorporating the real-life pregnancies of its game leading ladies, the pic puts bulging bellies, swollen breasts and hormonal mood swings on unabashed display.

The 81st annual Academy Awards - From the Kodak Theater
TV Reviews: The Oscar show is watched worldwide by an estimated 800 million people, but it's a very different experience inside the Kodak Theater.
Variety

The 81st annual Academy Awards - From the Couch
TV Reviews: Teaming the director of 'Dreamgirls' with movie star/song-and-dance man Hugh Jackman brought an 'X' factor to the Oscars, or at least two high-energy production numbers.

District B13: Ultimatum (Banlieue 13 Ultimatum)
Film Reviews: Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the Paris suburbs, writer-producer Luc Besson lobs another Molotov cocktail at the screen with 'District B13: Ultimatum.' Fun and frenetic sequel to the 2004 actioner heads back to the titular ghetto/war zone, where racially charged gangs are threatened by corrupt officials, trigger-happy cops, and nonstop chaos. With enough refs to the 2005 French riots to be considered, if not political, at least timely, the pic skilfully blends combat with social messaging, in an explosive blend that should satisfy fans in Gaul and beyond. Pic opened strongly Feb. 18.

House of Fools (De Gales Hus)
Film Reviews: 'The House of Fools' is a residential treatment center for the mentally ill in vet Norwegian helmer Eva Isaksen's empathetic take on Karin Fossum's best selling novel.
Variety

In Your Veins
Film Reviews: A strong performance by rising star Malin Crepin and some hot sex scenes lift 'In Your Veins' slightly above the average junkie drama.
Variety

Sleeping Songs (Schlaeft ein Lied in allen Dingen)
Film Reviews: The existentialist crisis of a jazz musician makes for confusing and finally soporific drama in 'Sleeping Songs.'

This Beautiful City
Legit Reviews: The inclination is to laugh when the Civilians swing into their first song in 'This Beautiful City,' a cowboy ditty extolling Colorado as the promised land. But the laughter turns to slack-jawed astonishment once this wicked-smart documentary theater troupe gets to Colorado Springs and allows the residents of this 'Christian El Dorado' to demonstrate the evangelical fervor that transformed it into the mecca of the megachurch movement. Performing entirely without attitude, company members inhabit the personae of local residents who sat down for interviews about their churches, their political beliefs and their glassy-eyed commitment to their faith.
Variety

The Wonderous World of Laundry
Film Reviews: Bleak present-day realities clash with dreams of a brighter future in docu 'The Wondrous World of Laundry,' which examines the drab but dignified lives of several femme workers at an industrial laundry in Poland.

Das Rheingold
Legit Reviews: The world began on the stage of Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday night and, through a series of small and large disasters, was led to the prospect of a glowing future. That's what happens at the end of part one of Richard Wagner's stupendous 'Ring' tetralogy, as Wotan's mighty swindle has left the golden Ring spinning out of control.
