David Letterman, host of the Late Show with David Letterman took time Monday night to formally apologize to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin for making what he called ?course jokes? about her daughters, Bristol and Willow. 'I feel that I need to do the right thing here and apologize for having told that joke. It's not your fault that it was misunderstood, it's my fault that it was misunderstood,? he said, in part. 'I'm sorry about it, and I'll try to do better in the future.' Gov. Palin accepted the apology. In a statement, she said that she accepted his apology 'on behalf of all young women, like my daughters, who hope men who 'joke' about public displays of sexual exploitation of girls will soon evolve.'
