Relax, before you go and alert the rumor mill, nobody has quit or been fired -- Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl are only leaving Grey's Anatomy temporarily. However, this does mean their characters will be gone from the canvas for a few episodes this fall.... Pompeo's absence from the show later this fall should come as no surprise since the actress will be giving birth to her first child and naturally needs a little time off to get the job done. While some had hoped that the pregnancy would be written into the show, I think it's safe to say that Meredith and Derek won't be expecting a little McBaby anytime soon. EW reports that Heigl will be taking a 5-episode hiatus from the show in order to shoot the film Life as We Know It with former Las Vegas star Josh Duhamel.
