More U.S. women are getting birth control services, according to a national data review.

An American Psychological Association task force review of more than 150 studies has found that although women who choose to terminate unplanned pregnancies might have feelings of grief and loss, the relative risk of mental health problems is no greater if they have a single abortion than if they deliver that pregnancy, the New York Times reports (Carey, New York Times, 8/13).

Sanofi-aventis and Bristol-Myers Squibb back today's decision by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence) to review its guidance on vascular disease for clopidogrel (Plavix®) and dipyridamole. NICE originally planned to defer review of the guidance, called Technology Appraisal Number 90 (TAG90), until November 2010.
