Join Together Merges Into CASA* -- Rosenbloom Named President and CEO of CASA -- Califano Continues as Chairman
The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University announced that Join Together will be merged into CASA and David L. Rosenbloom, Ph.D., will become the President and Chief Executive Officer of CASA. Joseph A. Califano, Jr., the former U.S. Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare who founded CASA in 1992 and has been its Chairman and President since that time, will continue to serve as CASA chairman.

Join Together, a project of the Boston University School of Public Health, will merge into The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASA)*. David Rosenbloom, PhD, who founded Join Together in 1991, will become President and CEO of CASA, succeeding Joseph A. Califano, Jr., who founded CASA in 1992 and has been its Chairman and President since then. Califano will continue to serve as CASA chairman.

Some teenagers and young adults might overestimate how often they use condoms during sex, according to a study published recently in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Reuters Health reports. After Traffic Accidents Telephone Support Reduces Problems And Improves Quality Of Life
People who were injured in road accidents had fewer problems and a much higher quality of life if they received a simple follow-up call from a nurse three weeks after being discharged from hospital, according to research in the January issue of the Journal of Clinical Nursing. During the two-year study, researchers from Umea University in Sweden followed up 568 car occupants, cyclists and pedestrians who had attended the same emergency department after an accident.
