Richard Burr and Kay Hagan are catering to the special interests of the tobacco lobby and their own efforts to get re-elected.Although tobacco farming may be more profitable for North Carolinian farmers, it surely is not in the best interests of our nation's children and their health. Shouldn't our senators be looking for ways to lower health care costs? I would urge our senators to drop their bill and support the Waxman-Platts Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act.
