NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - In the United States, celiac disease is four times more common now than it was in the 1950's, according to a study by researchers at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

NOSCAR announces NOTES multicenter human trials in the US
(American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) The Natural Orifice Surgery Consortium for Assessment and Research (NOSCAR), a joint effort of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, announces the first Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery multicenter human trial in the United States. Until now, NOSCAR research has focused on basic research. Commitments from industry partners Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Olympus America Inc. and Stryker Medical will provide funds to support this research.
