Students Excel in Meeting the Challenge From the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada!
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - July 21, 2009) - The 31st MS Read-A-Thon to benefit the Quebec Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada has now ended. In all, 74 elementary and secondary schools participated, for a total of 4,200 students, $99,500 was raised and over 24,000 books read. During a two-week period, the youngsters read as many books as possible and collected pledges from sponsors. This challenge is both educational and charitable: the students raise funds to support multiple sclerosis (MS) research, which is the most common neurological disease affecting young adults in Canada, and to provide services to the 13,000 to 18,000 Quebecers who have MS and their families.
