Alberta Medical Association Presents Its 2009 Medal of Honor to the Family of Walter Doll CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2009) - The Alberta Medical Association (AMA) will award its 2009 Medal of Honor to Walter Doll for his commitment to improving the quality of health care for Albertans. Mr. Doll, a long-time champion for health care for the citizens of Fairview, Alberta, passed away on July 9, 2009, at the age of 74. The award, which will be presented posthumously during the AMA's annual Representative Forum, September 25, in Calgary, is awarded to a non-physician who has made outstanding personal contributions to the people in Alberta and who has contributed to the advancement of medical research, medical education, health care organization, health education and/or health promotion to the public.
